Welcome Nasinomod Deodee to Knitty City!
Growing up on the island of Dominica, as a young boy Nacinomod was surrounded by crochet because of his mother and aunt. He learned how to do the chain stitch at 7 only to pick up crochet again years later at the age of 19.
Mostly self taught, Nacinomod began to create crochet hats while attending City College in NYC.
He was asked by a friend to do some commission work and found himself creating pieces for artists in the music world such as Erykah Badu and Macy Gray.
Soon enough he found himself creating artful crochet pieces for Fashion Week Boston, Caribbean Fashion Week and most recently during Brooklyn Fashion Week. His pieces were classified as Artistic Presentations.
Nacinimod creates sculpted pieces and is a crochet garment maker. He loves to create art into a constructed garment.
Nowadays, Nacinimod is making a conscious effort to connect with the yarn community.
