The Knitty City Book Club meets upon Thursday, May 12, 6:30-8PM. All are welcome to this free event. You don't even have to know how to knit. This month's title: Boys in the Trees, a memoir by Carly Simon

"Stella", a fingering weight, 4 ply yarn from Julie Asselin, is made up of fine Merino and a smattering of metallic thread. It has 400 yards of yarn beauty per skein - more than enough to create a beautiful shawl or a special gift or accessory.

Check out the innovative and luscious knits in summer's cool colors in Vogue Knitting's newest issue.

Discover a wide range of quick, creative, and on-trend projects—from sweaters and shawls to hats and bags—in this new book from Cascade. The featured yarn, Cascade's Ultra Pima Cotton, is on the shelf now, so come on in and take a look.

Looking Forward

World Wide Knit in Public Day
Saturday, June 18

World Wide Knit in Public Day 2016 marks the 10th year of people publicly sharing their love of knitting around the world!  Knitty City will be hosting a knit-out at Bryant Park on Saturday, June 18, 2016.   Bring your own knitting or crochet projects, and enjoy a day out in the sun with your fellow fiber enthusiasts!  We will be confirming the exact time in a future posting and meeting at our usual spot - the Upper Terrace in Bryant Park.

Bryant Park Knits

The gentle sound of working knitting needles will, once again,  return to Bryant Park on June 21 as we commence our annual free "Learn to Knit" sessions from 1:30-3 PM every Tuesday, through August 30th. Our talented instructors will conduct the free sessions on the Upper Terrace, across from Bryant Park Grill.  We will provide yarn and the use of needles to all participants.  All practice pieces and materials will be used to create "Found, but Not Lost Scarves" , which will be donated in Bryant Park during the winter.  You are invited to join us - even if you already know how to knit.  Sharing your talent is part of the fun.  (Please note: All needles will be returned to instructors at the close of each session.)

Don't forget to look for us in all the usual places: FacebookInstagramRavelryTwitterPinterest.

Nothing beats seeing you in person, however, so drop by the store anytime. We look forward to seeing you.
