Labor Day Fun

Many of us label Labor Day the end of Summer and it's easy to see why. School is back in session and the leaves begin their annual turning. For the knitting industry it's considered the best time of year to introduce new yarns and designs and, after all these years, we still get excited when the big boxes start to arrive. Take a look at what we have in store!

New Yarns

Will this be the year you finally learn to knit socks? Are you already a sock knitter? Do you like warm toes and custom fit? If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, we're the place for you. We have classes, yarns and kindred souls (pun alert!) galore. Just this week, a new batch of Regia sock yarn appeared on our doorstep.

Thie "Carlos and Arne" Regia sock yarn collection turns out fair isle type socks without the fuss and bother of multiple yarns and we have their new colors in stock. We also have ongoing sock classes with Mary Hayne, our resident sock teaching expert. Held on Sundays, from 1-3 PM, as a rule. Check our calendar for specific dates in September and October

WoolFolk Yarn

Last year's newest yarn sensation (for many) was a lovely super merino yarn from new company, Woolfolk. Two varieties were introduced, worsted "Far" and fingering "Tynd." This year, owner Kristin Ford, has brought a third into the fold, a "marled" or two-tone version of the fingering weight. We are thrilled to be one of the few shops offering this yarn. As soft as cashmere, it has the strength and durability of merino and is simply beautiful. The new collection for these yarns are be found right here: http://www.woolfolkyarn.com/collection-fw15/

Also in this month are new colors of Berroco's Chunky Alpaca, which coincides nicely with the fact that September is Berroco month at Knitty City - and all Berroco yarns are 10% off all month.

New Inspirations

Here are just a few new pattern books and folios for Fall 2015. Downloading on line is all well and good, but nothing beats a book (or a magazine) in the hand. Articles, ideas, even ads about new yarns all contribute to inspirational ideas and projects. Check out these:
